Peter Beauman had a chat to Bluebloods about their 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale draft.
In 2023, Carrington Park Stud will offer eight yearlings by a wide range of stallions, and buyers are likely to love the early maturing colt, Lot 786, by Golden Slipper winner Capitalist (Written Tycoon) from speedy two year-old winner Diala (Artie Schiller) who also ran fourth in the Gr3 National Stakes. This is Diala’s first foal, and Diala is a half-sister to group winner Petits Filous, from the family of Gr1 winner La Bella Dama. This pedigree is layered with precocious speed.
First season sire Pierata (Pierro) has a filly, Lot 697, who is out of Canny Time (Canny Lad), a very promising racemare who placed in her first two starts then had to retire after only her third start. Her first foal is a winner, and her second foal is placed in 2022, so this is a family on the move. Canny Time is a half-sister to Gr2 winner Charlie Boy and to stakes placed winner of seven races Hijauan Valdor, and this filly’s third dam is Gr1 Flight Stakes winner Pontal Lass (dam of Gr2 winner and Gr1 placed Quays).
First season sire Magna Grecia (Invincible Spirit) was a Gr1 winner at two and three, winning the English Two Thousand Guineas, and his filly, Lot 936, is the second foal of winning High Chaparral mare High Specs, who is a daughter of Listed winner Creative Plan, herself a half-sister to Hong Kong stakes winner Jeune King Prawn. This is a real miler’s pedigree with classic style horses on both sire and dams side.
Crafty Miss (Starcraft), a daughter of Listed winner Miss Gai Flyer, broke her maiden at her fourth start and went on to win twice more. Her colt by first season sire Alabama Express (Redoute’s Choice), Lot 1065, is her fourth foal, and her first foal has placed twice from his five starts, and is currently in work. This is the family of Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Ha Ha, Gr1 Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed, and Gr1 Champagne Stakes winner Go Indy Go.
Divine Prophet (Choisir) has started his stud career well with Gr2 Skyline Stakes winner Promitto and group winner See You In Heaven, and his filly, Lot 1191, is out of winning mare North Pole Dancer (Anabaa) who has left two winners including Future Event who has won eight races. North Pole Dancer is a half-sister to Gr3 winner Communique, from the family of Gr1 winner Cronus, Gr1 winner Samantha Miss (dam of Gr2 winner and Gr1 placed Miss Fabulass), Gr2 winner Pravda (dam of group winner The Good Fight and Listed winner Pravana).
Champion Sprinter and first season sire Blue Point (Shamardal)’s filly, Lot 1068, is the first foal of Danaat (Chester House), who is out of a stakes placed winning full sister to Listed winner Tears I Cry (Chester House) from the family of Champion sire and Horse of the Year Street Cry, and Champion sire Shamardal.
First season sire and Gr1 winner Royal Meeting (Invincible Spirit) has a colt, Lot 1233, who is the fourth foal of Russian Rites (Stravinsky) whose first foal won four races. Russian Rites is out of a winning half-sister to Listed winner of twelve races, Motspur, from the American Fanfreluche family.
Super One (I Am Invincible) is the sire of a yearling colt, Lot 1210, whose winning dam, Piccali (Piccolo) is a full sister to Listed winner Picardi Run. Piccali won five races and her first foal to race has had two starts, running fifth in July 2022 at his second start. This is the family of Gr1 winner Sofia Rosa, Never on Sunday, Mascarpone, Marwong, and Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude winner Nanutarra.
