A group winner at two and three, Tiger of Malay won on debut as an October two year-old. After a spell, he was thrown in the deep end, and spent the rest of his two year-old season racing solely in group company. He won the BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes-Gr2 and placed in the JJ Atkins Stakes-Gr1 and Pago Pago Stakes-Gr3. Back at three, Tiger of Malay won his first outing, the Up & Coming Stakes-Gr3, before retiring with three wins and three placings from twelve starts and earnings of $1million.

Tiger of Malay has the same racing qualities – early maturing speed – that have made his sire, Extreme Choice, so well sought after. Extreme Choice’s seven stakes winners from less than 80 live foals in his first two crops include Golden Slipper-Gr1 winner Stay Inside, Gr1 winning two year-old She’s Extreme, group winning two year-old Extreme Warrior and Listed winning two year-old Xtremetime.
One of three stakes winners for his winning dam, Tiger of Malay brings a strong female pedigree to the equation. His half-brother Samizdat (Not a Single Doubt) is a Gr3 winner in Perth who also won the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy-L and two other Listed races, while Tiger of Malay’s half-sister Samovare (Savabeel) won the WATC Champion Fillies Stakes-Gr3.
