Victor Ludorum

Stands at DARLEY, NSW, for $24,750

A classic example of linebreeding back to his own family, Victor Ludorum excelled as a racehorse, winning Gr1 races at two and three, then training on as a four year-old to win at group level. Unbeaten in three starts at two, Victor Ludorum won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-Gr1 at that age, then returned at three to win the Poule d’Essai des Poulains-Gr1, as well as place in the Prix du Jockey Club-Gr1 behind Mishriff. At four, he once again won a group race and placed in the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp-Gr1 behind Baaeed.

Champion Sire Shamardal has 160 stakes winners, including local Gr1 winners Able Friend, Faint Perfume, Pakistan Star, Dan Excel, Maybe Discreet, Captain Sonador, and Delectation. His sire sons include Lope de Vega who has 92 stakes winners and is well known locally with Gr1 winning sprinter Santa Ana Lane, Gytrash, and Vega One.

Victor Ludorum is linebred 3fx3f to Helen Street, the dam of Champion Sire Street Cry, and of Shamardal’s stakes placed dam, Helsinki. This is a spectacular family, beginning with Victor Ludorum’s own group placed winning dam, who has also left Listed winner and Gr1 placed Mary Tudor (Dawn Approach). His second dam is Listed winner Historian, while the aforementioned Irish Oaks-Gr1 winner Helen Street is Victor Ludorum’s third dam.

On his own race record, Victor Ludorum has plenty of merit being a Gr1 winner at two and three, and he has plenty of pedigree to back up his performances.
