Tyreel Stud

Tyreel Stud’s legacy of winners from their Inglis Easter Yearling Sale drafts is even more impressive when the small sizes of their drafts is considered. Rocket Spade (Fastnet Rock) won the 2021 New Zealand Derby-Gr1 and now races in Hong Kong, and that draft also included Gr2 placed winner Osamu. In 2020, their five yearlings included Gr2 winner and JJ Atkins-Gr1 placed Tiger of Malay (Extreme Choice). Recent debut city winning two year-old Bases Loaded (Deep Field) is a Tyreel Easter graduate, while Hong Kong star Aethero came from earlier drafts. Tyreel Stud is a magnificent boutique broodmare property, ideally situated on the banks of the Nepean River in the fertile Hawkesbury Valley which has a long proud tradition of producing
elite thoroughbreds.

“We are proud of our record with Inglis sales having sold Gr1 winner Rocket Spade at Easter and Gr1 winner Montefilia at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale. We have put together a draft of five incredible types for Easter with pedigrees to back them up and buyers will love this collection of athletes,” said Tyreel Stud’s Rob Sims.

In 2023, Tyreel will offer a select draft of five yearlings at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

History tells us that Golden Slipper winners make good stallions and Capitalist is headed that way with ten stakes winners from his first couple of crops including Gr1 Champagne Stakes winner Captivant who now stands at Kia Ora Stud. Capitalist’s current two year-olds include Listed Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Sovereign Fund, while Tyreel Stud sold this season’s Gr3 placed winning two year-old Veecee (Capitalist).

In 2023, Tyreel Stud will present Lot 108, a Capitalist colt out of winning mare Dream Faith (Zizou) who
is a full sister to Listed winner of five races Zin Zan Eddie (Zizou). Dream Faith’s first foal is a winner
at three this season.

“A sharp speedy looking colt. Following his arrival at Tyreel, he has always maintained those strong fast twitch muscles possessed by the speedier two year-old types. The later sales selection has allowed him time to naturally mature and strengthen.”

Justify has had a flying start to his stud career in Australia with boom two year-old Learning To Fly, and the Triple Crown winner had six stakes winning two year-olds in America in 2020 as well. His colt, Lot 190, is from a sensational family. His dam, Kings Iris (Exceed and Excel) was a winner and this Justify colt is her first foal. Kings Iris is a half-sister to New Zealand One Thousand Guineas-Gr1 winner King’s Rose (dam of dual group winner Satono Arthur), and to Gr2 winner Hardham. Champion 2YO in New Zealand Anabandana is from this family and Anabandana is the dam of two recent stakes winners in Packing Rockstar and Anavinci.

“A superior colt with striking strength and quality. A lovely action and movement when parading, this combined with his deep pedigree I feel makes him an elite prospect.”

Lonhro is emerging as a sire of sires with many young sires at stud including Pierro, and Tyreel Stud will offer a colt with stallion’s credentials in Lot 257, being the third foal of quality race mare My Country (Poet’s Voice). Winner of the Listed BRC Lancaster Stakes and three other races, as well as being group placed, My Country’s first foal is a three year-old who trialled recently. With damsires like Poet’s Voice, Danehill, Shirley Heights, and Arctic Tern, this colt’s pedigree is filled with European stakes winners such as Royal Dornoch, Millennium Dragon, J’Ray, and Kotashaan.

“A colt by the perennial sire of countless racetrack stars. His effortless movement will no doubt draw buyer’s attention to him.”

Lonhro’s best son is Pierro, and Tyreel Stud will offer one of his fillies as Lot 318. The third foal of Listed winner Rockolicious (Fastnet Rock), this filly is a half-sister to city winner Delicious Tycoon. This filly boasts a wonderful Australian family with her third dam being Gr1 winner Canny Lass, dam of two stakes winners and the dam of group winner and sire Rothesay.

“A star filly, great substance for a filly by the sire. Great length through her body and show stopping looks. A must see for all at the sale.”

Last through the ring at the 2023 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for Tyreel Stud is a cracking filly, Lot 332, by Champion Sire Exceed and Excel who continues to sire wonderful racehorses including this season’s two year-olds Cylinder, Barber, and Zulfiqar. This filly is the first foal of Sally’s Realm (More Than Ready), a city winning full sister to stakes winner and emerging good sire Better Than Ready (More Than Ready), as well as stakes placed winner Sally’s Day (More Than Ready). This is the family of tough sprinters Publishing, Miss Mooney Mooney, and Illustrious Lad.

“The ideal filly to bring the curtain down on a stellar draft. A sensationally sharp looking filly who hails from a sire making family. Her athletic physique will gain many admirers.”

With five cracking types and a stellar record of producing racetrack stars, the Tyreel Stud draft must be on everyone’s inspection list.
