We invite you to experience the magic and share in the passion as we celebrate our collective love for the thoroughbred.
Join us from 4 January for the commencement of inspections for the 2023 edition of the Gold Coast Yearling Sale. The auction of the southern hemisphere’s biggest and best yearling catalogue will take place from 10 January across seven consecutive days of selling with 1273 outstanding lots to be offered in Books 1 and 2.
A showcase of equestrian excellence and internationally renowned horsemen and women will be on display at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping on Sunday 8 January. Watch celebrity and professional players take to the polo field such as Argentine superstars Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier. Whilst the showjumping competition run at senior and junior level will feature a $1m prize pool for the first time, making it the most valuable stand-alone competition in the world – right here on the Gold Coast.
We are excited to welcome actress and showjumping enthusiast, Elsa Pataky, to the Magic Millions ambassador family, who will be in attendance as our Global Ambassador for Showjumping.
The Queensland Summer Racing Carnival continues to grow in status and value with $22.5m in total carnival prizemoney over 52 feature races and 11 racemeetings. Highlighted by our grand final event, The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday on Saturday 14 January.
With $11.75m on offer across a ten race card, The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday is the only racemeeting in Australia to stage eight million-dollar plus races on the one program.
We are proud to continue to innovate in ways that are designed to benefit more participants and all sectors of the industry in driving growth, investment and returns. In 2023 we are delighted to introduce two new world-first feature races, the $1m Magic Millions The Syndicate, for horses owned by a minimum of 20 individual registered owners and/or syndicate members, and the $500,000 Magic Millions The Debut, for unraced 2YOs, in what will become the richest 2YO maiden in the world.
Our world-first Magic Millions Racing Women’s initiative enters its eleventh year, with $750,000 in Racing Women’s Bonuses on offer to all female-owned thoroughbreds across two time-honoured races, $2m The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic and the $2m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
Returning to the Gold Coast to make the presentation to this year’s winners will be our Magic Millions Racing Women Patron, Zara Tindall MBE. Since Zara presented the first Magic Millions Racing Women’s Bonus in 2013 to the connections of Real Surreal, an extraordinary 1,690 thoroughbreds have been registered in all-female ownership, trained in every state of Australia and New Zealand.
